Community Rules

Honest can be uncomfortable. ta.ke exists for honest, difficult, contradictory, unpopular and sometimes raw thoughts, and a difficult subject is not a violation by itself. We act on exposure, exploitation and direct harm, not on confession, discomfort, profanity or hard experiences.

What is welcome

  • Your real opinion, including an unpopular one.
  • Personal experience, including painful experience such as grief, illness, addiction or abuse.
  • Discussion of hard topics: sex, drugs, crime, death, self-harm, politics, religion.
  • Strong language that is not aimed at a person.

What is not allowed

  1. Exposing people. No phone numbers, emails, addresses, exact locations, ID numbers, passwords or other details that identify or locate someone, including yourself.
  2. Off-platform contact. No social handles, links, "DM me" or other ways to move people off ta.ke. WORLD is not a contact directory, a dating or hook-up space, or a place to advertise.
  3. Child sexual exploitation. Any sexualisation of minors is banned and reported to the authorities (see Child Safety Standards).
  4. Threats and incitement. No threats of violence against a person or group, and no encouraging others to hurt themselves or someone else.
  5. Hate and targeted harassment. No attacks on people for who they are (race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or similar), and no harassment of an identifiable person.
  6. Exposing someone's private life. Do not reveal another identifiable person's secrets, health, sexuality or private details.
  7. Scams and spam. No fraud, phishing, selling, promotion or repeated junk.
  8. Illegal activity. No offers to buy or sell illegal goods or services, and no instructions for serious harm.
  9. Manipulating the Service. No fake or automated accounts, and no getting around blocks or moderation.

What happens when something breaks the rules

  • An answer may be checked before it appears in WORLD, held for a person to review, or kept out of WORLD. It always stays in your own private history.
  • If your answer is kept out of WORLD, you can tap Request review and a person will look again. You cannot rewrite what you said.
  • Serious or repeated violations can lead to a temporary restriction or to closing the account.

Reporting and blocking

Every take in WORLD has a ••• menu. Report it for: personal or identifying information; child safety or sexual exploitation; threat, violence or serious illegal activity; scam, spam, external contact or link; or another safety concern. A report hides that take from you at once; it does not automatically remove it or punish anyone, because reports are reviewed in context. Block hides a contributor's takes from you; because ta.ke has no profiles, blocking reveals no one's identity and they are not told.

If you or someone else is in danger

ta.ke is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number. Support resources are on our Safety Center.
